\n\t\u201cAlong the Way,\u201d a new original song written by Lin-Manuel Miranda for Disney<\/a>\u2018s upcoming Moana<\/a><\/em> live-action film<\/a>, arrived on Monday (June 15). The song is performed by Catherine Laga\u2018aia, who portrays Moana in the new film, alongside Dwayne Johnson, who returns as Maui, as well as Auli\u2018i Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the first two animated films.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt was such a joy to drop back into the world of Moana<\/em> again and write \u2018Along the Way,\u2019\u201d Miranda said in a press release announcing the news. \u201cAuli\u02bbi and Catherine\u2019s voices blend so beautifully, and writing for Dwayne as Maui is just pure fun. I\u2019m grateful that we were able to create something special for this brand-new version of our wayfinder\u2019s story.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tListen to the new song below:<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cAlong the Way\u201d is included on the Moana<\/em> Original Soundtrack \u2014 alongside new versions of the original songs by Miranda, Opetaia Foa\u02bbi and Mark Mancina \u2014 which arrives June 26 ahead of the film\u2019s July 10 release. A deluxe version coming on July 8 also includes the original score composed by Mark Mancina, as well as instrumental tracks. Finally, on July 31, an album inspired by Moana<\/em> will be released digitally titled Moana: Voices Across the Ocean<\/em>. The album\u2019s 15 tracks are performed by Pacific artists representing seven islands and cultures, including Fifth Harmony\u2019s Dinah Jane, Stan Walker, Iam Tongi, Paula Fuga, Maoli and Common Kings, with more to be announced soon.<\/p>\n \n\tMiranda earned an Oscar nomination for best original song back in 2017 for \u201cHow Far I\u2019ll Go,\u201d Cravalho\u2019s signature song from the first film, which is performed in the new movie by Laga\u2018aia.<\/p>\n \n\tBelow, watch a new featurette about \u201cAlong the Way,\u201d featuring Miranda and the three performers.<\/p>\n \t
