Love Island USA<\/i><\/a><\/span> executive producer James Barker<\/strong>\u2019s partner, Adam Roth<\/strong>, is speaking out following his loved one\u2019s unexpected death<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cJames was the absolute light and love of my life,\u201d Roth shared with People<\/i><\/span><\/a> on Monday, June 15. \u201cHe brought joy and brilliance to everything he touched.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roth and Barker lived together in Brooklyn, New York and had been together for more than four years.\u00a0When looking back on their love story, Roth simply said it was \u201ccut way too short.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we took such advantage of the time we had together,\u201d he shared. \u201cWhile it was not enough, I am so thankful for the time we had and the memories we made together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Love Island franchise has mourned the deaths of some of the show\u2019s most beloved islanders over the years. Love Island, which premiered in the U.K. in 2002, follows a different group of singles every season who pair off in order to stay in the show\u2019s luxury villa. The franchise has since expanded worldwide, with [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Earlier in the day, Peacock confirmed that Barker had died after an \u201cunexpected medical emergency\u201d in Fiji, where Love Island USA<\/i> is currently being filmed. His official cause of death has yet to be revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cJames\u2019 unimaginable loss has been deeply felt across not just the entire Love Island USA production, but throughout all of ITV and Peacock,\u201d the companies said in a statement to Us Weekly<\/i>. \u201cHe was a beloved and greatly valued member of our collective family whose kindness, talent and dedication left an indelible mark on all of us and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barker is expected to be honored during the Tuesday, June 16, episode of Love Island USA<\/i>.<\/p>\n

We met at a Billie Eilish<\/strong> concert, and live music was a constant in our relationship,\u201d Roth shared with People<\/i>. \u201cI am so proud of the work he did and that he was surrounded by such an amazing team. His loss is unimaginable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barker started working on Love Island USA <\/i>in 2020, beginning as a story producer and working his way to executive producer \u2014 a position he held for the past three seasons.<\/p>\n

Outside of Love Island USA<\/i>, Barker had the opportunity to work on shows like Counting Cars<\/i>, Forged in Fire, Queer Eye<\/i> and the iconic Pawn Stars<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Outside of TV, he spent 20 years DJ\u2019ing across the country and built a dedicated following of fans.<\/p>\n
