David Harbour<\/a> is speaking out for the first time about Lily Allen<\/a>‘s break up album, West End Girl<\/em>.<\/p>\n The British singer\u2019s scathing album\u2014released in October 2025, just one month before the premiere of the final season of Stranger Things<\/em>\u2014seemingly portrayed Harbour as having an extramarital affair<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was weird,\u201d Harbour told Variety<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Daniel D’Addario in a new interview. \u201cI do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cI can\u2019t really say that much more because it\u2019s my private life. In spite of the fact that a lot of people don\u2019t allow me a private life \u2014 I value it. And I also value the lives of the people that I interact with privately. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n D’Addario then asked the actor if he wanted to push back on any claims Allen made on the album.<\/p>\n \u201cStories are complex, and that\u2019s why I say I respect her creation of art to channel her experience,\u201d Harbour answered. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t my experience.\u201d<\/p>\n In a November 2025 interview with Esquire Spain<\/em><\/a>, Harbour was asked about turning 50 and if there\u2019s anything he\u2019d change about the \u201clast half-century\u201d of his life. Without mentioning Allen, he alluded to \u201cmistakes\u201d he made along his journey.<\/p>\n “That’s such a hard question \u2013 the question of regret, or something. I would change either everything or nothing,” Harbour began. “You either accept your path completely and realise that even the pain and the slip-ups and the mistakes are all part of the journey, and that there’s truth and growth, wisdom and deeper empathy and connection in all that.”<\/p>\n While speaking to The Times<\/em><\/a>, Allen said she didn\u2019t think all of her claims on West End Girl<\/em> were \u201call true,\u201d noting that she used \u201cartistic license\u201d when writing the album.<\/p>\n Allen and Harbour first met on the celeb dating app Raya in 2019 and tied the knot the following year, according to People<\/em><\/a>. A source told the magazine in February 2025 that the couple had called it quits.<\/p>\n Allen\u2019s West End Girl<\/em> Tour<\/a> began with a European leg in March and recently concluded its first North American leg back in March.
