Jelly Roll<\/strong><\/a> shared a \u201cweight loss update\u201d after filing for divorce from wife Bunnie Xo<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The musician, 41, took to Instagram on Monday, June 15, to share a video of him trying protein powder. Jelly Roll explained that this is the first time he found a flavor he liked, which he compared to a \u201csweet treat\u201d after mixing it with water and almond milk.<\/p>\n

Jelly Roll\u2019s social media post came hours before news broke that he filed for divorce<\/a>. Us Weekly<\/em> subsequently confirmed on Monday, June 15, that the country artist filed to end his marriage one month prior, submitting a divorce petition in Tennessee on May 18.<\/p>\n

Before their split, Bunnie, 46, supported Jelly Roll on his weight loss journey.<\/p>\n

The country star (real name is Jason DeFord) has candidly discussed his weight for nearly a decade. In 2015, he weighed more than 500 pounds, revealing in a 2018 Instagram post that he was once advised [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe always had a sex life, but there were mountains and valleys that we had to go through \u2014 especially when he was so big,\u201d she exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in January.<\/p>\n

Bunnie noted that she loved Jelly Roll\u2019s \u201cexcitement and his new zest for life<\/a>,\u201d adding, \u201cIt\u2019s so childlike and just giddy \u2014 just seeing him get to be the man that I always saw that he was.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cEven when he was 500 pounds, this dude was an agile, big guy. I\u2019m like, \u2018You are athletic under that meat suit.\u2019 Now that he has the weight off of him, he just gets to be who I always knew that he was, and I think it\u2019s brought a new sense of happiness to him. Any time he\u2019s happy, I\u2019m happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
