John Stamos<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his painful divorce from ex-wife Rebecca Romijn<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Full House<\/em><\/a> actor, 62, began dating Romijn, 53, in 1994 and they tied the knot in 1998. However, the relationship came to an end six years later, and their divorce was finalized in 2005.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt broke my heart. I didn\u2019t want to get divorced,\u201d Stamos admitted<\/a> during a June 10 appearance on Bobbi Althoff<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cThe Really Good Podcast.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cShe wanted to [get divorced]. It took me a long time to get over, but I have to say that \u2026 she has a nice life, she married another guy, they have kids, they\u2019re doing great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Romijn married actor Jerry O\u2019Connell<\/strong> in December 2007. The stars share twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, 17.<\/p>\n

Stamos, meanwhile, married actress and model Caitlin McHugh<\/strong><\/a> in 2018. They share a son, Billy, 8.<\/p>\n

During his podcast appearance, Stamos recalled recently bumping into O\u2019Connell, 52, at a party.<\/p>\n

\u201cI met him recently. It was very interesting. He was very sweet. He was very nice,\u201d he said. \u201cWe were at a party together and he came over and he was super nice. He couldn\u2019t have been sweeter. He was very, very funny and very charming.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his 2023 memoir, If You Would Have Told Me<\/em>, Stamos opened up about the demise of his relationship with Romijn<\/a>, which she later said \u201cblindsided\u201d her<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I\u2019m lifting Rebecca up, I\u2019m losing myself. \u2026 She makes it clear that I\u2019m the TV guy and she\u2019s the newly minted star. \u2026 Somewhere deep inside, I start to believe it,\u201d he wrote at the time.<\/p>\n

According to the ER<\/em> alum, there were \u201cups and downs\u201d throughout the couple\u2019s marriage.<\/p>\n
