(WTAJ) \u2014 Jeff and Bert Brown were originally in their seats Saturday at the Juneteenth Music Celebration, but eventually, were up and dancing to Johnnie Croom Band. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe like to dance, we love the food and we enjoy the scenery,\u201d said Bert Brown. <\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tribdem.com\/news\/we-like-to-dance-johnstown-juneteenth-music-celebration-kicks-off-week-of-events\/article_e6f2604a-454e-4db7-9145-eba8db5bed8d.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.tribdem.com\/news\/we-like-to-dance-johnstown-juneteenth-music-celebration-kicks-off-week-of-events\/article_e6f2604a-454e-4db7-9145-eba8db5bed8d.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According to our media partners at The Tribune-Democrat, <\/a>the couple frequently attend the kickoff event and are planning to return throughout the week to enjoy more festivities.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Brown said events at Peoples Natural Gas Park in downtown Johnstown are fun and give him an opportunity to relax.<\/p>\n<p>They certainly weren\u2019t alone, as people could be seen dancing and singing throughout the concert. <\/p>\n<p>Lina and Conrad Sneed, who come from Cleveland, Ohio and visit the kickoff event every year, were dancing right in front of the stage.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>They\u2019re related to Deacon Jeff Wilson, who planned Saturday\u2019s concert, so they came to support him and Johnstown\u2019s Juneteenth events.<\/p>\n<p>Linda Sneed said she also keeps coming back for the top-tier food, fellowship and music.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Johnnie Croom Band, crowds heard from Saturday by 81Funk, The Palovations, Cassandra \u201cDivine Diva of Comedy\u201d Morgan, Aaron \u201cThe Entertainer\u201d Jefferson, Dr. Hook, Wilson\u2019s group Smooth Sound Band, Dazzlin\u2019 Divas, The Pennsoulvanians and Flood City Cipher.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody\u2019s having a great time,\u201d said Wilson.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>He added that the event was in spirit of the holiday \u2013 love and forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Juneteenth celebrates the June 19, 1865, announcement in Texas of the abolition of slavery following the end of the U.S. Civil War.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson said the fellowship Saturday represented \u201cwhat Johnstown is really about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t feel better,\u201d said Wilson, who also thanked the businesses and people who support the annual event.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Indya Reaves, who came from Washington, D.C., with her business Edyn\u2019s Dream Boutique, said she was having a blast.<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Get the latest news, weather forecasts and sports stories delivered straight to your inbox!
