Olivia Wilde <\/b><\/a>found it mortifying to be served with custody paperwork while onstage at CinemaCon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will never forget one of the most f***ed-up things I went through, among so many, was that I was served papers on stage,\u201d Wilde, 42, recalled during the Wednesday, June 17, episode of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast<\/span><\/a>. \u201cObviously, it was incredibly traumatizing. There\u2019s so many elements to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilde was handed an envelope<\/span><\/a> marked \u201cpersonal and confidential\u201d during a panel for her film Don\u2019t Worry Darling <\/i>at CinemaCon in April 2022. Us Weekly <\/i>subsequently confirmed the envelope contained custody documents.<\/p>\n

Wilde and Jason Sudeikis<\/b>, who were together from 2011 to 2020, share son Otis, 12, and daughter Daisy, 9.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI get through it because, weirdly, as women we\u2019re taught to muscle through the most insane experiences,\u201d Wilde told podcast host Alex Cooper<\/b>, stressing that she can now laugh about the incident. \u201cI was like, \u2018Just finish your speech.\u2019 [I] got through it, went backstage and completely dissolved into a puddle. But then, I thought no one saw it because there\u2019s no phones allowed in this event.\u201d<\/p>\n

Instead, Wilde realized that coverage of the viral moment was already published via multiple news outlets.<\/p>\n

\u201cA couple months later, I had the chance [to meet] Tom Cruise<\/b>, and he was like, \u2018Hi, I\u2019m Tom. F***ed up what happened to you in Vegas.\u2019 I was like, \u2018No!\u2019\u201d the actress recalled, adding she still doesn\u2019t know whether the incident was orchestrated. \u201cJason has told me that he did not know, and I need to believe that to continue [our coparenting relationship].\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilde added, \u201cI think that lawyers can be super f***ed up and do f***ed-up things. I\u2019m aware of that, and all of that, but I think that people are never their best selves when they\u2019re engaging in that kind of process. It was so f***ed up in so many ways. I know that whether or not he knew it was going to happen, I know it really hurt him to see it happening to me.\u201d<\/p>\n
