Jeremy Clarkson, the British television host best known for BBC\u2019s \u201cTop Gear,\u201d revealed this week that he is battling prostate cancer. <\/p>\n
The 66-year-old personality unveiled his diagnosis in the two most recent episodes of his farm-keeping series \u201cClarkson\u2019s Farm,\u201d which streams on Prime Video. He detailed his condition to co-hosts Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland during a filmed discussion about the upcoming harvest at his Diddly Squat farm. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got cancer,\u201d he tells his co-stars, after informing them he will need to take some time away from his farm duties. \u201cIt\u2019s aggressive but it\u2019s really early.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clarkson also told Cooper and Ireland, who seemed visibly stunned about the health revelation, that he has known about his cancer diagnosis since May. The second part of the series\u2019 two-part finale, released Wednesday, concludes with the \u201cClarkson\u2019s Farm\u201d crew recapping the ups and downs of their harvest year and with the show\u2019s namesake back in a hospital bed. The season began with Clarkson discussing treatment he received for a coronary issue. <\/p>\n
\u201cSome of the treatment\u2019s gone a bit awry … so I\u2019m gonna be here for a little while,\u201d he tells the camera crew. <\/p>\n
He adds: \u201cIf this is all successful, I\u2019ll see you for Season 6, and if it isn\u2019t, I won\u2019t. Take care everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clarkson warned of the somber mood of the two episodes on Instagram, informing fans in a video post<\/a> that they would be anything but \u201cbucolic and charming, and cheerful.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re a difficult watch,\u201d he says, \u201cthey\u2019re really, really difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n Before \u201cClarkson\u2019s Farm\u201d debuted in June 2021, Clarkson was best known for co-hosting BBC\u2019s popular car show \u201cTop Gear.\u201d BBC fired the host <\/a>after he was involved in a physical altercation with a producer. Clarkson went on to co-host \u201cThe Grand Tour\u201d<\/a> on Prime Video alongside Richard Hammond and James May, who departed \u201cTop Gear\u201d shortly after their co-host\u2019s firing. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
