Lil Nas X<\/a> has given a hopeful update on his mental health in an Instagram video<\/a>, opening up about his diagnosis with bipolar disorder and the process of going through court-mandated rehab and therapy<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been in rehab for a few months, and since then I\u2019ve been back at home, whether it\u2019s in Atlanta with my family or in Los Angeles with myself, friends, and whatnot, and trying to ground myself down to earth and get out of my head,\u201d the artist began. \u201cI have a therapist now and a psychiatrist, which has been really helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n The rapper continued by saying he had an intuition about being bipolar \u201cfor the past few years,\u201d but didn\u2019t want to \u201cadmit to it \u2019cause I didn\u2019t want to have to take medication and have people think differently of me.\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m already Black and gay. I\u2019m living life on extreme hard mode.\u201d<\/p>\n Adding that he was \u201cfeeling better\u201d and creating freely with \u201cless fear in my heart,\u201d the musician said he was finally \u201csmelling the roses\u201d after being focused on music for seven years.<\/p>\n Lil Nas X closed out the video by teasing that there is \u201cnew music on the way,\u201d and expressed his excitement to embark on his next chapter with his loyal fans, the Montourage. \u201cThank you, guys, for holding me down, and I love you, and all I wanna do is continue to try to make you proud and make myself proud.\u201d<\/p>\n In August 2025, Lil Nas X was arrested following an incident when he was walking nearly naked<\/a> in LA\u2019s Studio City neighborhood. He was accused of assaulting and injuring responding officers and subsequently charged<\/a> with three counts of battery and one count of resisting arrest.<\/p>\n He voluntarily entered a mental health treatment program following the arrest. This April, a judge determined the incident was linked to Lil Nas X\u2019s bipolar diagnosis and\u00a0ruled that his charges would be dropped if he complied with the program and obeyed all laws for the next two years.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n
