Former child star Daveigh Chase<\/b><\/a>, known for her roles in Lilo & Stitch<\/i> and The Ring<\/i>, <\/b>has died. She was 35.<\/p>\n

Chase\u2019s boyfriend, Roy Hernandez<\/b>, confirmed to TMZ<\/span><\/a> on Wednesday, June 17, that she died one day prior. According to Hernandez, Chase had meningitis<\/a> and an infection in her blood that causes sepsis.<\/p>\n

Chase rose to fame in the early 2000s, voicing Lilo in Disney\u2019s Lilo & Stitch <\/i>and Chihiro Ogino in Spirited Away<\/i>. She also appeared in The Ring, Big Love <\/i>and American Romance.<\/i><\/p>\n

Hernandez launched a GoFundMe<\/span><\/a> campaign shortly before Chase\u2019s death, sharing details of her hospitalization.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaveigh Chase, my girlfriend, has always been a light in my life. Many people know her as a talented childhood actor<\/a> from Lilo & Stitch<\/i>, Spirited Away<\/i> and Donnie Darko<\/i>, but behind the scenes, she\u2019s faced more than her share of hardship,\u201d Hernandez wrote. \u201cAfter a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown L.A. When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Hernandez, Chase was \u201crecently\u201d diagnosed with meningitis and \u201cseveral serious blood infections.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHer condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left,\u201d he noted in the fundraiser description. \u201cAll she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI understand we all go through things, but if you can help, I will be really grateful for anything. And if you can only give a prayer, I will take that too. Thank you for considering helping us during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chase took a step back from the spotlight, last appearing on screen in American Romance <\/i>in 2016.<\/p>\n
