DETROIT<\/strong> \u2013 A Detroit business owner is celebrating the grand opening of his new event center, bar, and grill on Woodward Avenue, but it\u2019s his staff\u2019s behind-the-scenes work that\u2019s drawing attention as well.<\/p>\nEntrepreneur Tony \u201cMassive\u201d Little has opened The Massidore Detroit, a venue he describes as a place \u201cwhere elegance meets class,\u201d featuring a menu that includes lamb chops, steak bites, turkey chops, chicken, burgers, and fish.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve completely done the floors, the remodeling, and everything. The LED screens,\u201d said Little as he showed off updates inside the new space.<\/p>\n
For Little, the business is about more than food and entertainment; it\u2019s also about community service.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy whole motive is to give back,\u201d Little said. \u201cThat\u2019s where I get my most pleasure from.\u201d<\/p>\n
Little says his passion is focused on people in the immediate community, including neighbors who may be dealing with difficult circumstances. <\/p>\n
A nursing home sits across the street, and he says the area is home to people who could use extra support.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the reasons we always give back is because I know where I came from,\u201d Little said. \u201cIt\u2019s from the east side of Detroit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Little also shared that opening the business is personal, after overcoming challenges and discouragement as a child, when people close to him said he would never amount to anything.<\/p>\n
\u201cComing up, I believed that. So, I began to just live my life recklessly,\u201d Little said. \u201cAnd one day, I woke up and said I\u2019m not going to be the way they want me to be. I\u2019m going to do something different.\u201d<\/p>\n
That \u201csomething different,\u201d he says, is building a business model rooted in community service. <\/p>\n
Little and his team spend time each month conducting outreach, including delivering hot meals to people in need and ensuring they feel seen and appreciated.<\/p>\n
As The Massidore Detroit celebrates its grand opening, the team hopes that regular acts of service and the relationships built along the way will make a lasting impact.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I can keep them from going down the road that I went down, then that\u2019s how it\u2019s going to be,\u201d Little said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s why we are always giving back.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Massidore Detroit is located at 9350 Woodward Avenue. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s open Noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. <\/p>\n
Staff members have been touting the restaurant\u2019s mac and cheese, and Little says the event center plans to host a major entertainer each month.<\/p>\n
