Rapper Lil Nas X<\/a> returned to Instagram on Wednesday, revealing he\u2019s been living life on \u201cextreme hard mode\u201d after his arrest and subsequent bipolar diagnosis. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhen I got my bipolar disorder diagnosis, I feel like I had known for the past few years, but I wouldn\u2019t admit to it because I didn\u2019t want to have to take medication and have people think differently,\u201d The \u201cOld Town Road\u201d singer, whose given name is Montero Lamar Hill, said in an Instagram video<\/a> where he appeared outside. \u201cI\u2019m already Black and gay. Damn, God. Gimme … come on. Black, gay, bipolar, I\u2019m living life on extreme hard mode.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Lil Nas X was arrested last year<\/a> after allegedly attacking police officers while walking down a Los Angeles road in just his underwear and cowboy boots. He pleaded not guilty<\/a>. A court ruled in April<\/a> that the incident was related to his bipolar diagnosis and the charges would be dismissed if he followed his treatment plan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n On Wednesday, the rapper said he\u2019s been in rehab for a few months and back and forth between Atlanta with his family and Los Angeles. He said he has been trying to \u201cground\u201d himself \u201cdown to earth\u201d and get out of his head. He added that he has a therapist and a psychiatrist, \u201cwhich has been really helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI\u2019m doing much better,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m feeling better. I\u2019m creating freely and there\u2019s less fear in my heart and [I\u2019m] smelling roses.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He thanked his fans and said he wants to make them proud as well as himself. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Shortly after his arrest in August 2025, Lil Nas X told his fans that he was going to be all right despite the \u201cterrifying\u201d experience. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cYour girl is gonna be okay, y\u2019all. OK. She\u2019s gonna be all right. She\u2019s gonna be all right.
