Wendy Williams<\/a> has been relatively quiet over the past year or so, but now she\u2019s opened up about her life inside an assisted living facility in New York.<\/p>\n In an interview with The celebrity.land<\/a>, the former talk show host spoke about what life has been like ever since she was forced to retire from her eponymous show in 2021 after being diagnosed with aphasia and dementia.<\/p>\n Williams has been living in Coterie, a high-end assisted living facility, since 2023 and has been battling to end her conservatorship. She suggested that she\u2019s \u201crested\u201d her case about the facility, which sets her back as much as $25,000 a month.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s grass, trees, two floors, no cars around. Can\u2019t even do the elevator to go down. It, too, is locked. I once was a connoisseur of food, and now sometimes I\u2019ll just have meals in my room. And I don\u2019t drink,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m 61. And mine is a locked floor. And there\u2019s also an in and out hospital. There\u2019s always security with me. Look, I go to church every Sunday. It\u2019s the Christian Cultural Center \u2014 10 a.m. I go with a personal aide. \u2026 Understand, I did a daily TV show 14 years. Let me tell you something else \u2014 and that is that I don\u2019t know exactly how, what, why, but I have gone through a lot of shi t,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n The last time Williams gave a public update on her condition was last year in an interview with The Cut<\/a>. She described the assisted living facility as a \u201cdump,\u201d and said that she asked to be moved to a different floor because she was being kept in a memory care unit with people much older than her.<\/p>\n Last year, her attorney, Joe Tacopina, said that Williams has \u201calcohol-induced dementia<\/a>,\u201d which means that her condition is not expected to worsen like typical dementia patients.<\/p>\n <\/a> Wendy Williams’ Father, Thomas D.
