Lil Nas X<\/a> has shared a candid mental health update following months of rehab, adding that new music is \u201con the way\u201d.<\/p>\n Yesterday (June 17), the rapper gave an update on his mental health programme<\/a>, which he agreed to undertake in April in the view of having charges against him dropped. Last year, Lil Nas X pleaded not guilty to four charges<\/a>, including battery of a police officer.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been in rehab for a few months and since then, I\u2019ve been back at home whether it\u2019s in Atlanta with my family or in Los Angeles with myself, friends and what not, \u201d he began in the Instagram video.<\/p>\n Lil Nas X continued to say he was visiting a therapist and psychiatrist, who were \u201creally helpful\u201d in assisting with the rapper\u2019s bipolar disorder diagnosis. The disorder is typically characterised by extreme mood swings.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI feel like I had known for the past few years, but I didn\u2019t want to admit to it because I didn\u2019t want to have to take medication and have people think different of me,\u201d he professed in the video.\u00a0\u201cBlack, gay, bipolar\u2026 I\u2019m living life on extreme hard mode!\u201d<\/p>\n However, Lil Nas X added that he was \u201cdoing better\u201d and \u201ccreating freely\u201d, going on to tease: \u201cThere is new music on the way. I\u2019m not getting completely to that just yet, but I\u2019m excited\u201d.<\/p>\n Last August, the rapper was arrested in LA after reportedly charging at police <\/a>while walking down the street in his underwear at 4am. In a video shared by\u00a0TMZ<\/a> <\/em>at the time, Lil Nas X (real name Montero Lamar Hill) was seen speaking incoherently as he wandered the streets around his home.<\/p>\n He later called the experience \u201cterrifying\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n Lil Nas X\u2019s father later gave a statement<\/a> citing music industry pressure, being the main breadwinner for his family and his mother\u2019s reported struggles with addiction as factors leading to his public breakdown.<\/p>\n After appearing in court for the first time in March, the rapper shared a statement with fans<\/a> thanking them for their support during the tumultuous time. \u201cAll I wanted to say is to my fans, I really love, and I miss you, and I appreciate your support so much, and I can\u2019t wait to be back hugging you guys,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
