Katie Couric<\/a> was full of smiles as she shared a photo with her new baby granddaughter, Virginia, on Wednesday (June 17).<\/p>\n The veteran journalist took to her Instagram page<\/a> to post the snap, which showed her in a New York Knicks jersey while cradling her sleeping granddaughter. \u201cIntroducing Virginia Louise!\u201d Couric captioned the pic. \u201cBorn May 30, 2026. 8lbs 5ounces.\u201d<\/p>\n The former Today<\/em><\/a> co-host said she is a \u201cvery happy Gogo,\u201d her nickname for grandma. She also said that Virginia\u2019s mom, her daughter, Ellie (35), was \u201cdoing great\u201d and that her first grandchild, Jay (2), is \u201ccoping.\u201d<\/p>\n\n Couric first revealed she was about to be a grandma again back in May, telling People<\/a>, \u201cMy daughter, Ellie, is expecting her second child on June 5th. So it\u2019s gonna be a very exciting summer, both for Ellie and her husband, Mark.\u201d<\/p>\n She did express one concern, however, adding, \u201cI\u2019m not sure how exciting it\u2019s gonna be for Jay to welcome a new baby into the house. TBD on that. Their daughters, Ellie and Carrie, were just 6 and 2 at the time of their father\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n \u201cThey were just 6 and 2 when Jay died, so he missed so much.
