Daveigh Chase<\/strong>\u2019s former manager is casting doubts on the legitimacy of the GoFundMe page set up by her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez<\/strong>, in the wake of the actress\u2019 death.<\/p>\n

\u201cA man claiming to be Daveigh\u2019s boyfriend has launched a GoFundMe page purportedly on behalf of Daveigh and her family. Neither her family nor her close friends know who this person is,\u201d John Ryan<\/strong> told TMZ<\/em><\/a> on Thursday, June 18.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI can confirm Daveigh has a SAG trust account with more than enough funds to cover all medical and related expenses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chase\u2019s former manager urged fans not to donate to the GoFundMe page \u201cuntil the organizer\u2019s identity and claims can be verified.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hernandez confirmed to TMZ<\/em> on Wednesday, June 17, that the Lilo & Stitch<\/em> star died the day prior<\/a>. According to Hernandez, Chase had meningitis and an infection in her blood that caused sepsis. She was 35.<\/p>\n

In the days leading up to her death, Hernandez created a GoFundMe titled<\/a>, \u201cHelp Daveigh Chase Find Comfort & Peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown L.A.,\u201d the page read. \u201cWhen we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hernandez continued, \u201cRecently, everything changed. Daveigh was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections. Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left. All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hernandez noted that he would be \u201cgrateful for anything,\u201d even if fans can only offer their prayers.<\/p>\n

Hernandez has not shared any additional updates following Chase\u2019s death. The fundraiser has received just over $4,000 out of the $5,500 asked as of publication.<\/p>\n

Hernandez told TMZ<\/em> that it is \u201c100 percent\u201d false to say the GoFundMe is illegitimate, noting that he plans to use the funds to give Chase a \u201cproper memorial.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chase rose to fame in the early 2000s<\/a> as the voice of Lilo in Disney\u2019s Lilo & Stitch<\/em> and Chihiro Ogino in Spirited Away<\/em>. She also starred as Samara in The Ring<\/em>, a role that earned her the Best Villain award at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards.<\/p>\n
