Angelina Jolie<\/a> recently revealed that her children helped keep her \u201cfighting spirit\u201d alive. The \u201cMaleficent\u201d star is currently busy promoting her new movie, \u201cCouture.\u201d She stars in the film as Maxine, a movie director who attends Paris Fashion Week but receives a breast cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Angelina Jolie says her kids are \u2018encouraging\u2019 her \u2018fighting spirit,\u2019 which she had briefly \u2018lost\u2019<\/h2>\n

Angelina Jolie and \u201cCouture\u201d director Alice Winocour recently sat down for an interview with Variety<\/a>. At one point, the actress referred to her private life and divorce from Brad Pitt. \u201cI think my fighting spirit is finally back,\u201d she said. \u201cI lost it for a bit. I got kind of taken down a little bit, and it\u2019s coming back in large part thanks to my children, who are now older, and encouraging it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jolie and Pitt shared six children during their marriage: Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne. She further explained, \u201cMy kids are almost all 18, so now they want to see me traveling the world, they want me to get out and do things. They know me more than anybody, and they still like me, which says a lot. I think they\u2019re very encouraging of me kind of getting back to aspects of myself that maybe I hadn\u2019t felt as free to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the interview, Winocour revealed that she chose Jolie because she had a \u201cpunk spirit.\u201d When asked if she considers herself punk, the actress said, \u201cI think I\u2019m more punk\u00a0now.\u201d She explained, \u201cYes, it has an energy, but it\u2019s also kind of the counter movement to a lot of what\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jolie continued, \u201cSo even sometimes my privacy or not completely being sucked into a lot of things or movements \u2014 sometimes the doing less, or being private, when the world is the way it is right now, that is an opposite.\u201d Her new film \u201cCouture\u201d will be in theaters in the US on June 26.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
