Keith Richards<\/a> has said Sir Mick Jagger \u201cwon\u2019t bloody stop\u201d making new music, crediting the singer\u2019s “momentum” for the speed at which the Rolling Stones\u2019 next album has come together.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n

The rock \u2019n\u2019 roll legends will release Foreign Tongues, the follow\u2011up to 2023\u2019s Hackney Diamonds, in July, \u00a0and the Gimme Shelter guitarist said Mick shows no signs of slowing down as he approaches his 83rd birthday next month.<\/p>\n
He told The Guardian: \u201cMick\u2019s been very prolific lately, which is one reason this album has come out so quick, because he won\u2019t bloody stop.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd the momentum from Hackney Diamonds was such that this is basically carrying on in the same breath. I was just letting it roll \u2013 we had enough stuff if we wanted to keep pushing, and so Mick and I gave each other the usual wry\u00a0look and said: \u2018Yeah, let\u2019s keep pushing.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
The publication pointed out that the two musicians have historically differed in their approach to the band\u2019s sound, with frontman Mick inclined toward contemporary experimentation and Keith favouring the traditional style he has always championed.<\/p>\n
\nThe 82-year-old musician said his long relationship with Mick has shaped the way they work together.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI\u2019ve known Mick, I think, roughly since preschool, so let\u2019s say about four years old.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd when you\u2019ve known a chap that long, you always say: \u2018Listen to me, boy, I\u2019ve known you since you were four \u2026\u2019 And that seems to have an effect.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Start Me Up guitarist added that their dynamic has softened with age.<\/p>\n
\nHe insisted: \u201cNo, there\u2019s not as much jousting.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe\u2019s broken his sword, he\u2019s broken his lance. It\u2019s another thing that Mick and I gave up, probably down to age. Or at least he hasn\u2019t come at me for a while, so I presume we have.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Jumpin\u2019 Jack Flash hitmaker also praised producer Andrew Watt, describing\u00a0him as \u201ca breath of fresh air and a kick up the a**.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKeith said: \u201cHe knows his stuff musically and technically, and he doesn\u2019t put up with any bull**** – he just gets on with it. So I found him very easy to work with. He\u2019s a bit impetuous at times, but then so what?\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAsked whether Andrew had ever had to challenge him directly, the rock icon replied: \u201cNo. But he may have given somebody a talking\u2011to.\u201d<\/p>\n
