Olivia Wilde<\/a> has set the record straight on what really happened during the promotional\u00a0tour for\u00a0Don’t Worry Darling\u00a0and how one 1990s<\/a> pop culture icon helped her overcome it.<\/p>\n Appearing on an episode of\u00a0Call Her Daddy<\/a>, the movie’s director explained that she wanted to be more honest at the time, but ultimately decided against it. \u201cI wanted to be like, \u2018Can I just talk to people?\u2019\u201d Wilde told Alex Cooper<\/a>. \u201cCan I just go and say like, \u2018That\u2019s not true?\u2019 And it was like, \u2018No, that won\u2019t help.\u2019 And that was really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n At the same time, Wilde was also trying to promote the film on behalf of its cast and crew.\u00a0\u201cI was like, ‘It’s not about me.
