Thompson will examine works from all visual art mediums by artists over 18 (or younger with parental consent) completed after Jan. 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Artists may submit up to two works, via the Walton Arts Center\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/waltonartscenter.org\/visual-arts\/exhibitions\/our-art-2026\/call-for-art\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition runs Sept. 25-Dec. 20 in the Alexander Gallery at the arts center\u2019s Porter Art Warehouse in Fayetteville. For more information, email visualarts@waltonartscenter.org.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><u>LITERARY<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Headlining author<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Author Ariel Lawhon\u00a0will be the \u201cheadliner\u201d for a fundraising event for the Central Arkansas Library System\u2019s 2026 Six Bridges Book Festival, Oct. 4 at Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Ave., Little Rock.<\/p>\n<p>Doors open at 5 p.m. for a reception with heavy hors d\u2019oeuvres and beverages; \u201cAn Evening with Ariel Lawhon\u201d begins at 6:30. Lawhon will sign books afterward.<\/p>\n<p>Lawhon\u2019s works of historical fiction have landed her on The New York Times bestseller list; her books have been translated into more than 30 languages. Her novel \u201cThe Frozen River\u201d was in the CALS\u2019 Top 10 circulated adult fiction (print) titles of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Lawhon\u2019s Little Rock appearance is part of a book tour for her latest novel, \u201cThe Pirate Queen,\u201d due out Sept. 8, which a CALS news release describes as \u201ca sweeping historical adventure inspired by the life of Grace O\u2019Malley, the legendary Irish folk heroine who risked everything to defend her people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>General admission tickets are $100 (which includes access to the reception).
