Da Brat<\/a> remained tight-lipped about her sexuality for years\u2014until she met her wife, Jesseca \u2018Judy\u2019 Dupart.<\/p>\n

In a new conversation with the podcast, Speak On It<\/em>, Da Brat explained that she \u201cwas in the closet forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLike we didn\u2019t tell shit,\u201d she said around the 7:50 minute mark of the video below. \u201cWe ain\u2019t supposed to talk about shit. You can keep that s**t to your mother f**kingself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Da Brat and Dupart married in 2022 after dating for five years. The couple shares a three-year-old son, True Legend, who was born via IVF<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In February, the \u201cFunkdafied\u201d rapper opened up about being hesitant to come out as queer<\/a> because of her career.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat s**t wasn’t cool back in the day,\u201d she said on Angie Martinez\u2019s IRL <\/em>podcast. \u201cIt was against the rules back in the day for a female artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Da Brat said that she initially \u201cnever cared\u201d about disclosing her sexuality. However, meeting Dupart changed Da Brat\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never really met anybody that made me want to be out loud\u2026I thought I was in love a few times, but apparently not,\u201d she continued. \u201cNot until I met this one, \u2018cause then I felt some feelings and some things that I had never felt before.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it made me want to be like, \u2018 f**k everybody. You\u2019re going to see this love. You\u2019re going to see how happy I am.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
