The Kansas City Royals<\/a> are expected to be a seller ahead of the upcoming MLB trade deadline. Kansas City entered the season with lofty expectations, but the team has failed to play up to their potential. Could the Royals potentially bounce back? With that being said, they are probably not going to enter a complete rebuild. They still have core players such as Bobby Witt Jr.<\/a> and Maikel Garcia<\/a> under contract for years to come.<\/p>\n

The Royals will likely end up making veterans who are going to enter free agency fairly soon available for trades. Thomas Harrigan of MLB.com recently mentioned<\/a> Michael Wacha<\/a> and Seth Lugo<\/a> as potential trade candidates.<\/p>\n

Lugo and Wacha both have club options for the 2028 campaign. They are under contract through the 2027 campaign.<\/p>\n

Kansas City is in an interesting spot. In all reality, the team features a talented roster. Sure, it has not played up to expectations. The future remains bright, though.
