James Van Der Beek<\/b><\/a>\u2019s widow, Kimberly Van Der Beek<\/b><\/a>, poignantly marked her family\u2019s first Father\u2019s Day since his tragic death.<\/p>\n

\u201cMissing you so much and thinking of how magnificent you were in every single way today,\u201d Kimberly, 44, wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Sunday, June 21, sharing a carousel of throwback photos of James with their six children. \u201cAnd somehow, from the other side? You continue to parent. You\u2019re a marvel.\u201d<\/p>\n

James died in February<\/span><\/a> after battling stage III colorectal cancer. He was 48.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith and grace,\u201d Kimberly wrote in a statement shared via social media at the time. \u201cThere is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the months since the Dawson\u2019s Creek <\/i>alum\u2019s death, Kimberly has been candid<\/a> about navigating her grief.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday was three months since we lost @vanderjames. To say I\u2019m heartbroken is a severe understatement. Words just don\u2019t capture what grief is,\u201d she wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> last month. \u201cThe comforts of shock have worn off. The reality is settling in \u2026 and I miss him. We all miss him. Yet, there is a different kind of magic in the air.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued at the time, \u201cI feel him. I know him more deeply. My conscious connection to God has deepened. The veils of the universe have thinned. And I trust that this is the path me and my family have always been intended to walk. The outpouring of support has been tremendous. It\u2019s held our family in the most beautiful of ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Kimberly and her kids remember James on Father\u2019s Day, several of their loved ones have also paid tribute to the actor\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n
