Maren Morris <\/b><\/a>and her ex-husband, Ryan Hurd<\/b>, are thriving as coparents \u2014 so much so that that country singer shared a Father\u2019s Day tribute in her ex\u2019s honor.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy Father\u2019s Day, R,\u201d Morris, 36, wrote via Instagram Stories on Sunday, June 21, alongside a throwback snap of a shirtless Hurd, 39, performing skin-to-skin with then-newborn son Hayes.<\/p>\n

Morris and Hurd welcomed their son<\/span><\/a> in March 2020, nearly three years before they separated. The \u201cBones\u201d singer and Hurd finalized their divorce<\/span><\/a> in January 2024 after five years of marriage.<\/p>\n

Since then, Morris and Hurd have remained committed to putting Hayes first as they navigate their coparenting relationship.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMaren Morris and ex-husband Ryan Hurd eventually found their stride coparenting 5-year-old son Hayes. \u201cWe\u2019re over a year out now \u2026 [and] we get along now and have moved past a lot of it,\u201d Morris, 35, recalled of her divorce during the Thursday, June 5, episode of the \u201cDear Chelsea\u201d podcast. \u201cWe\u2019re neighbors, and I\u2019m [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re over a year out now \u2026 [and] we get along now and have moved past a lot of it,\u201d Morris said on a June 2025 episode of the \u201cDear Chelsea\u201d podcast of their post-split dynamic<\/span><\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re neighbors, and I\u2019m just so fortunate that we have put our son above each other\u2019s s***, and it\u2019s better for the two of us if we\u2019re getting along.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI\u2019m lucky that we love each other so much still. We have the highest respect, but also there is that devastation that two people [who] love each other that much can\u2019t make it work in the real world. It\u2019s always going to be multifaceted. I think, ultimately, we both knew it was probably going to be better this way, which is a success.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Morris gushed that she and Hurd are \u201cgreat coparents.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve let each other go in that romantic sense, even though we still have so much love and history,\u201d Morris added. \u201cThe person you marry is not the person you divorce, and \u2026 just the hardest part is knowing that it\u2019s not the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morris further found that following the judge\u2019s ruling about split custody schedules helped her adjust to their new normal.<\/p>\n
