Armie Hammer<\/a> reacted emotionally to receiving his his first acting offer in five years after being accused of sexual misconduct<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n Hammer, who starred in hit 2010s films The Social Network<\/em> and Call Me By Your Name <\/em>(and also put in a notable appearance as tech CEO\/Equisapien creator Steve Lift in Boots Riley<\/a>\u2019s Sorry to Bother You<\/em><\/a>), returns to the select theaters in independent action thriller, Citizen Vigilante<\/em>, which releases on June 19. The Uwe Boll-directed movie comes one year after Hammer starred in Western flick Frontier Crucible.<\/em><\/p>\n The actor was notoriously accused of sexual abuse and cannibalistic fetishism<\/a> involving multiple women in 2021, the most prominent being Effie Angelova. For years, Hammer has denied the allegations, although he admitted to emotional wrongdoing of his previous partners.<\/p>\n Simultaneously, Hammer was married to media personality Elizabeth Chambers<\/a>, whom he divorced in 2023 after 4 years of marriage. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, Hammer shared that he was \u201cpretty sure\u201d that he \u201ccried\u201d upon getting an offer to star in Citizen Vigilante \u2014 <\/em>the first offer he had received in five years.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was just this moment where I was like: I\u2019m going to get to do the thing that I love more than anything \u2014 other than my children,\u201d the actor explained.<\/p>\n Hammer added that he would have starred in a \u201c f**kingcat food commercial\u201d if it got him back into acting: \u201cI just wanted to work again.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite having a career in movies and TV that spans over 20 years, Hammer was admittedly \u201cscared shitless\u201d about being in front of the camera again until \u201cUwe said action for the first time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then I was like \u2014 \u2018Wait.
