But, yeah, it\u2019s coming up quick, and I\u2019m excited for people to see what we\u2019re cooking.<\/em><\/p>\nWhen asked why I Prevail <\/b>decided not to include this song on their most recent album, \u201cViolent Nature,\u201d which was released by Fearless Records in September of last year, Eric responded as follows. <\/p>\n
Honestly, we wrote it after the record was done. What\u2019s been great about this last few years is, in the past we would tour, tour, tour, and then go, \u2018Okay, we\u2019re gonna take some time off and work on a record.\u2019 And the last few years, honestly, having\u00a0Jon\u00a0[Eberhard], our bassist, be our producer, we\u2019ve been able to go, \u2018All right, let\u2019s start demoing some stuff. Let\u2019s rent a studio and just start working on some stuff.\u2019 We were over in Europe, and, \u2018Oh, okay.\u2019 We got a big hotel room. We can just jam in the room for a little bit and start working on ideas and just be more fluid and more creative on the spot rather than go, \u2018Okay, we gotta lock down and sit down and work for six weeks to do something.\u2019 So, as soon as\u00a0\u2018Violent Nature\u2019\u00a0was out, we were already just keeping the muscle of creativity fresh and continuing writing. And we got stuff that I don\u2019t know if it\u2019ll ever come out, but it\u2019s just fun to create and write and keep that muscle flexing.<\/em><\/p>\nAccording to Eric, the fan reaction to \u201cViolent Nature\u201d was a significant turning point for I PREVAIL as they began a new chapter, with Vanlerberghe being the only lead vocalist to address both clean and unclean voices.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve seen some comments and heard some\u2026 When I\u2019ve met up with some fans or run into people, they\u2019re, like, \u2018Man, really, really excited to see that you guys went a little heavier and kept the melodic.\u2019 It was a fun challenge when we were writing the record to, like, how can we push the boundaries of heavy and also still keep\u00a0I Prevail\u00a0what\u00a0I Prevail\u00a0is known for?\u201d he continued. \u201cI like to think that we write off-the-wall stuff, but also are able to write a big chorus, just write a big rock song, and it\u2019s been fun to push the boundaries on each side of it all.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n
