Quentin Tarantino has reunited with Welsh helmer Jamie Adams, known for his Nouvelle Vague-inspired improvised filmmaking style, on a new feature project in which the iconic \u201cKill Bill\u201d director will again step in front of the camera.<\/p>\n
Their last effort, \u201cOnly What We Carry,\u201d which also starred Simon Pegg and Charlotte Gainsbourg, premiered at Tribeca earlier this month.<\/p>\n
More from Variety<\/strong><\/p>\n The new movie is backed by New York-based producers Yale Entertainment, whom Adams met in person while at Tribeca, Variety<\/em> understands.<\/p>\n While both the title and plot of the new project are under wraps, Variety<\/em> has confirmed Tarantino will again be acting, this time opposite Kylie Minogue among others.<\/p>\n The director and the pop star were spotted over the weekend in the Welsh town of Porthcawl where they shot scenes of a funeral at Newton Church and a wake at the Saltwater Inn, according to a local outlet<\/a>.<\/p>\n The film also stars Welsh actors Karen Paullada, Julian Lewis Jones, Craig Russell and Siwan Morris, with Paullada posting on Instagram she had enjoyed filming alongside the trio as well as \u201cother legends\u201d in a film \u201csteered and put together by the one and only\u201d Jamie Adams.<\/p>\n Adams\u2019 last project, \u201cOnly What We Carry,\u201d about the romantic entanglements between a dancer, her sister and her former choreographer, was shot in six days in Deauville, France and backed by a French production company.<\/p>\n Adams told Variety<\/em> he cold-pitched Tarantino<\/a> the part of a wealthy benefactor in the film, writing to him directly to offer him a part. \u201cI sent him the story outline and a letter,\u201d the Welsh director said. \u201cI was just very honest about believing in him as an actor. Improvisation, the way I use it, is about being present and reacting organically. He\u2019s one of the greatest conversational storytellers. I thought that would be incredible in character. I didn\u2019t think I\u2019d hear back. But two weeks later, on a Sunday, his agent emailed saying Quentin was intrigued and wanted a Zoom.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThen I got on Zoom. And once you hear his voice, you\u2019re transported. It\u2019s like Disneyland for filmmakers. The conversation went everywhere, from movies, to a Welsh sitcom called \u2018Gavin & Stacey,\u2019 to what his life was like, what my life was like. At one point he tried to talk about the character, and said \u2018I\u2019ve written quite a few questions here about the character,\u2019 and I said, \u2018No, this isn\u2019t the moment for that.
