Online<\/a><\/p>\n Jennifer Garner<\/a> <\/strong>is happy her kids have <\/span>Ben Affleck<\/strong><\/a> as a dad. <\/span><\/p>\n In honor of Father\u2019s Day, the <\/span>13 Going on 30<\/span><\/em> star reflected on her relationship with her dad <\/span>William Garner<\/strong>, as well as her kids\u2019 relationship with her ex. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMy sisters and I loved to spoil our dad,\u201d Garner wrote in a June 21 Instagram post<\/a>. \u201cHe never wanted for fresh baked cookies or a bowl of ice cream.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And the 54-year-old noted how her kids <\/span>Violet<\/strong>, 20, <\/span>Seraphina<\/strong>, 17 and<\/span> Samuel<\/strong>, 14, feel the same way about the<\/span> Good Will Hunting<\/span><\/em> actor. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>I see the way my kids dote on their dad and I\u2019m happy for them,\u201d Garner added. \u201cTo love and be loved by a great dad is a gift. Happy Father\u2019s Day to all of the dads and to the kids of dads, too.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Although Garner and Affleck split in 2018, they have maintained a close coparenting relationship\u2014and the <\/span>Alias<\/span><\/em> actress recently detailed how it plays out day-by-day in \u201ctwo separate households.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n More from E! Online<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>I become mom and dad; he becomes dad and mom,\u201d Garner told Bustle<\/a> in February. \u201cYou kind of can\u2019t help it, right? Because you don’t have the benefit of both sides of the yin and yang being in the same house. And so you have to have a bit of both in the way that you parent.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Indeed, Garner stressed the unique dynamic works for their family, adding, \u201cThere’s a little bit of loss in that, but there’s also something gained in that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Affleck has emphasized that he and Garner will always share a special bond. <\/span><\/p>\n Photo by Jeff Vespa\/VF14\/WireImage<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n \u201cWhen you have children with somebody you\u2019re connected to them forever,\u201d Affleck told<\/span> People<\/a><\/span><\/em> in 2020<\/a>. \u201cAnd I\u2019m very lucky she is the mother of my children.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n For both Affleck and Garner, it was important for their kids to see a healthy, albeit separate, relationship between them. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very grateful and respectful of her,\u201d he continued. \u201cOur marriage didn\u2019t work, and that\u2019s difficult.
