{"id":2471082,"date":"2026-06-22T20:18:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T20:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2471082"},"modified":"2026-06-22T20:18:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T20:18:11","slug":"bic-runga-fazerdaze-and-more-join-new-kiwi-music-app-lume","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/bic-runga-fazerdaze-and-more-join-new-kiwi-music-app-lume\/","title":{"rendered":"Bic Runga, Fazerdaze and More Join New Kiwi Music App Lume"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Bic Runga, Fazerdaze, Troy Kingi, and more Kiwi artists are joining forces with Aotearoa New Zealand music startup Lume.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Found in October of last year, Lume is an album-centric music app backed by investors including Lorde,\u00a0Substack\u2019s Hamish McKenzie, Letterboxd\u2019s Karl von Randow, Previously Unavailable\u2019s James Hurman, and former Sky boss John Fellet.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to a press release, Lume \u201ccan be thought of as both a digital collection and a digital store.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The nascent platform brings \u201cboxed set-style content \u2014 demos, live tracks, extra artwork, and behind-the-scenes footage \u2014 to app stores.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Lume app will go live on both Google\u2019s Android and Apple iOS on July 17th.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It works on a \u201cbuy once, own forever\u201d model, rather than a subscription, and 80% of net revenue \u201cis reserved for artists and their partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Co-founder Sacha Judd, described as \u201ca fandom expert,\u201d believes Lume\u2019s content \u201crepresents a holy grail for fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"observer-sub-form justify-content-center my-3 p-0 d-flex align-items-stretch bg-dark text-white\">\n<div class=\"observer-sub-form-info p-3\" style=\"justify-content: start;\">\n<h2 class=\"h5 mb-0 observer-title\">Love Music?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"observer-desc mb-2\"> Get your daily dose of everything happening in Australian\/New Zealand music and globally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"spinner d-none\"> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThey\u2019re artefacts which add context to albums, and don\u2019t belong on the social web.
