After spending a lengthy playoff run cheering for the New York Knicks, Timothee Chalamet<\/a> is back to work.<\/p>\n

According to the latest news, the four-time Oscar nominee is pairing up with Selena Gomez<\/a> for the upcoming Illumination animated movie “Not Alone.”<\/p>\n

Set for a 2027 release, the upcoming Universal studios movie will feature Chalamet as as Joe, who is described as \u201can introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone.\u201d <\/p>\n

The former Disney star, on the other hand, will essay the role of \u201cFran, a brilliant astro-botanist who is developing the world\u2019s first-ever plant-fueled rocket,” per Deadline<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The film was announced recently during the Annecy Film Festival in France.<\/p>\n

“When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the inaugural launch of this revolutionary rocket, there are immediate sparks, but neither is particularly adept at romance,” reads the synopsis. “Life becomes more complicated when three aliens\u2014tiny, unruly and adorable\u2014take refuge in Joe\u2019s home. Dunk, Welly and Shirm are on the interplanetary run from a zealous-yet-inept officer of the law named Zandro. The aliens determine that Fran\u2019s rocket could provide their means of getting back home to safety.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eric Guillon, the co-director of “Despicable Me 3,” will be directing the film.<\/p>\n

While the anouncement was welcomed with an overall glee, several fans were left in astonishment, as the sudden pairing caught them in surprise. <\/p>\n

One of the fans noted, “Insane pairing we all never expected.”<\/p>\n

Someone else noted, “illumination doing a movie with those two is a pretty unexpected combination.”<\/p>\n

“Timoth\u00e9e somehow ends up in every major conversation,” jokingly added another fan.<\/p>\n

A social media ser chimed in, “This plot sounds so chaotic and cute at the same time, I\u2019m seated!”<\/p>\n

Another netizen, however, noted, “this is actually so exciting! I love seeing Selena act in literally anything but I don’t think Kylie Jenner will like him working w her. bc at that awards show Selena wanted to take a pic w him &Kylie wasn’t ok w that supposedly but who really knows!\ud83e\udd37\ud83c\udffb\u200d\u2640\ufe0f.”<\/p>\n

This is in reference to the rumor that brewed during the 2024 Golden Globes Awards, where it was speculated that the Rare Beauty founder reportedly wanted to pose for a picture with Chalamet, but Kylie Jenner allegedly did not let that happen.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, in a later interview with TMZ, the “Marty Supreme” star responded<\/a>, after a bit of coaxing, to the question whether he was in good terms with Gomez. Upon being asked, he replied, “Yeah, of course.”<\/p>\n

When he was asked further whether his girlfriend had bad blood with Gomez, Chalamet replied, \u201cNo\u2026 They\u2019re good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whether Gomez wanted a picture with Chalamet, that is still up for discussion. But, at least, with the latest film announcement, we will see the duo sharing the screen aplenty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
