Rebecca Gayheart<\/strong><\/a> paid tribute to late husband Eric Dane<\/strong><\/a> while celebrating Father\u2019s Day for the first time since his passing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hurt for my girls today,\u201d the actress, 54, wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, June 21. \u201cIt\u2019s a \u2018first\u2019 of many to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gayheart\u2019s post included a throwback snap of Dane sitting with the pair\u2019s daughters Billie Beatrice, now 16, and Georgia Geraldine, now 14, as the group celebrated a past Father\u2019s Day. The girls held up a card they picked up for Dane and the box they decorated for him that included multiple family photos. Dane was all smiles as he embraced his little ones.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know Eric is looking out for them every day,\u201d Gayheart concluded.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tRebecca Gayheart is continuing to mourn her late husband and the father of her children, Eric Dane. Posting via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, May 7, Gayheart, 54, shared a photo commemorating the actor two months after his death. The image showed a plaque that read, \u201cIn Loving Memory of Eric William Dane. 1972-2026.\u201d It [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dane died<\/a> earlier this year following a battle with ALS. He was 53.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS,\u201d read a statement from his family shared with Us Weekly in February. \u201cHe spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world. Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement continued, \u201cHe will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he\u2019s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following his death, Gayheart took to social media to express her gratitude<\/a> for the support she received amid her grief.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our community,\u201d she wrote via Instagram Stories on February 22. \u201cThere aren\u2019t words to express our gratitude. You are truly holding us up during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dane and Gayheart wed in 2004. The pair initially separated in 2018, but Gayheart withdrew her divorce petition in 2025. That same year, Dane publicly revealed his ALS diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n
