\n\tCarly Rae Jepsen<\/a> is officially coming back with a new album. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Canadian pop star announced her latest release, Day and Night<\/em>, a double album, Interscope Records announced Monday. It\u2019s set to be released on Sept. 18, with the first single, \u201cOn Wires,\u201d slated to drop later this week. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe 24-track album is being described as her \u201cmost cohesive artist statement to date\u201d and features 12 songs for day and 12 songs for night. \u201cDay and Night<\/em> captures a blurred, dreamlike sense of time where nights stretch into mornings and days dissolve into nights, creating a feeling of being suspended inside a moment,\u201d a release says of the album. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer has been teasing the project on social media for over a week. She posted a video clip and the album\u2019s cover earlier today on Instagram. \u201cIt\u2019s a double album baby! You guessed it right,\u201d one post read in part.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cExploring and dancing through two distinctly different landscapes. Day<\/em> being more open-eyed, organic and earthbound and Night<\/em> being more escapist and even intense at times,\u201d she said in another post. <\/p>\n

\n\tDay<\/em> leans more into 70s-inspired psychedelic pop, while Night<\/em> is filled with synth heavy dance pop. Jepsen worked with several collaborators including Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert and Cole M.G.N on the album. <\/p>\n

\n\tJepsen has spent the last 15 years releasing some of the most critically regarded pop music<\/a>. Her breakout hit \u201cCall Me Maybe,\u201d initially released in Canada in 2011, blew up across the world in 2012 and earned the singer two Grammy nominations. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOn Wires\u201d is set to be released on streaming platforms this Friday via Interscope Records. Jepsen has been announced a headliner for New York\u2019s All Things Go music festival, which will take place on Sept. 27 and be her first live performance of the year. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
