The 55-year-old star has insisted the upcoming Jackass: Best and Last will be the last film in the franchise because he needs to put his daredevil days behind him.<\/p>\n
He admitted: \u201cThere\u2019s been at least four times where I\u2019ve come close to death.”<\/p>\n
Johnny suffered his 16th concussion in 2022 when he was flipped over by a bull during a stunt and he admitted the months after the accident was a very dark period.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cIt was my 16th concussion and it sent me offline for six months.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt was terrifying. I would just lock in on an idea of something terrible happening… These were not physical bad things.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cTherapy, medication and friends pulled me out of that hole and I\u2019m off medication now and myself again.”<\/p>\n
\nA stern talk from Johnny’s neurologist saw him “politely and firmly” warned to take things easier, and so he promised wife Emily Ting and his three kids – who he has from his previous two marriages – that he would \u201cnever do another stunt where I risk getting a concussion\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nJohnny has always been hooked on increasingly dangerous stunts and his colleagues had to stage an intervention while making Jackass Number Two because he grew obsessed with a ski jump.<\/p>\n
\nHe recalled: \u201cThey said, \u2018Please stop \u2014 we have enough footage. You\u2019re wanting to do these big ideas that are going to end in disaster for you and there\u2019s no reason for it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Dukes of Hazzard actor is thankful his kids are showing no signs of following in his risk-taking footsteps.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cAll my kids think Jackass is funny but none of them want to do that type of thing, thank goodness.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nWith his stunt days now over, Johnny hopes to pick up his acting career and insisted he is “in excellent shape” – and the film could even feature his fellow Jackass stars.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to do a scripted film with the Jackass cast. We could do a great heist movie \u2014 if any group is least geared to pull off a heist, it\u2019s us.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd he admitted he finds it hard to watch other people do the sort of stunts he has always enjoyed.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI see a video of someone getting smoked and I become emotional. I wish that was me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
