Country singer Chris Young<\/strong> certainly had a Father\u2019s Day<\/span><\/a> weekend to remember after experiencing a scary travel surprise.<\/p>\n

\u201cFlying in to Nashville to see my Dad for Father\u2019s Day\u2026.Brake failure on the plane,\u201d Young, 41, wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Monday, June 22. \u201cLuckily had some amazing pilots. Ended up landing safely. Thank you Lord, the fire department and the men up front.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musician, known for hit songs like \u201cFamous Friends\u201d and \u201cI\u2019m Comin\u2019 Over,\u201d confirmed to fans that he wouldn\u2019t let the incident stop him from flying in the future.<\/p>\n

In a separate Instagram Story, Young confirmed that the show goes on as he teased upcoming concerts in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Thursday, June 25, and Fort Bliss, Texas, on Saturday, June 27.<\/p>\n

When landing, however, they must reduce their speed to about 160 to 170 mph. Upon touching the runway, airplanes must quickly brake until they come to a complete stop.<\/p>\n

Travel stories aside, Young has shared glimpses into the bond he shares with his dad, Michael Harris<\/strong>. In December 2021, the country singer celebrated the holidays by surprising him with a new Chevrolet truck.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad has been driving the same truck for well over a decade,\u201d he wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> at the time. \u201cI decided he needed a new one this year. I love you dad!\u201d<\/p>\n

Young\u2019s love and appreciation for Harris even inspired a song called \u201cJust Keep Living.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote this about my dad\u2019s battle with cancer. And he beat it, kicked its ass and he is still hanging, he\u2019s had two heart attacks,\u201d Young recalled to Apple Music<\/span><\/a> in October 2025. \u201cThis guy is just like, \u2018That wall over there, I\u2019m just going to walk through it.\u2019 Old country guy, Dale Earnhardt mustache. But I love my dad, and I actually had to call him because this was so personal.
