Fans got that glimpse when they shared a documentary-style video that detailed the story of the Brooklyn-born rapper<\/a>‘s hair transformation, which he debuted at this year’s Roots Picnic music festival in Philadelphia last month. Many were shocked to see that his thick, long-term freeform locs had transformed into a taken-down afro.<\/p>\n For Father’s Day, on June 21st, Beyonc\u00e9’s hair care brand, C\u00e9cred, shared a 7-minute-long video she narrated detailing why the rapper decided to get rid of his locs after 8 years, and how her products helped him brush them out in a days-long process. In addition to hairstylists and friends, the singer herself and their daughter can be seen helping to brush out the locs.<\/p>\n “I was pretty obsessed with Jay’s locks,” she reveals<\/a> in her narration. “Honestly, I didn’t really want him to cut them. There’s a lot of memories stored in locs. Locs can be like antennas connecting us to frequencies and energies. Hair grows. People grow.
