Kenny Chesney<\/strong><\/a> is a strong believer in keeping his political beliefs to himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve just never felt like it was my place,\u201d the country singer, 58, said of talking about politics publicly during a Monday, June 22, appearance on Bill Maher<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cClub Random\u201d<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

Chesney added that he was \u201cthankful\u201d Maher, 70, didn\u2019t bring up the subject when he previously appeared on the political commentator\u2019s show. The \u201cShe Thinks My Tractor\u2019s Sexy\u201d musician explained that he feels like other stars speak out about political issues because they have a platform that can reach the masses.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a certain ego, I think, that lives in there and a certain box inside your head and your soul that you have to check, for some reason, to think that you can make a difference,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

While Chesney has millions of fans, he doesn\u2019t feel like he needs to try to influence their way of thinking.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never saw it to be my place to use my stage or platform, no matter where I\u2019m playing, to tell people how to think or how to vote,\u201d he explained. \u201cLike, they hear that. They get that everywhere else. Everywhere on every device. Every network. They\u2019re there as an escape from all that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chesney is not the only star in Hollywood who prefers to remain mum<\/a> on the state of politics. Josh Duhamel<\/strong> previously shared that he doesn\u2019t publicly speak about his beliefs because he doesn\u2019t want to turn fans away from his projects in case they don\u2019t agree with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have real strong opinions about things, but I don\u2019t really talk about them,\u201d he said during a March appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show.<\/em> \u201cWhy would I alienate half my audience?
