One TikTok user is sharing how her family preserves her late sister’s room to honor her memory<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

Speaking with PEOPLE, Meagan Ghadoushi opened up about how she and her family have grieved the loss of her sister Sophia, who died last year at age 25 after being diagnosed with brain cancer<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

The family opened up about celebrating Sophia’s life by visiting her favorite places, doing her favorite activities and sharing her story online<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
A California family is going viral on social media for the sweet yet simple way they’re honoring a late family member.<\/p>\n
In May, 29-year-old Meagan Ghadoushi shared a candid video to her TikTok page that showed how her family keeps her late sister’s bathroom perfectly intact, “just as she left it.”<\/p>\n
“My sister died last year and my dad preserved her bathroom just as she left it,” Meagan wrote in the video, over footage of her sister Sophia’s washcloths folded neatly in a bin, bottles of skincare products sitting near the sink and robes hanging from a rack.<\/p>\n
“My heart hurts so badly for my parents,” she added in the caption of the clip, which has garnered more than 150,000 likes to date.<\/p>\n
Speaking with PEOPLE, Meagan shared that Sophia died in 2025 at age 25 after being diagnosed with glioblastoma \u2014 an aggressive form of brain cancer that is primarily found in adults.<\/p>\n
According to Meagan, the Ghadoushi family opted to keep much of their Los Angeles home, including Sophia’s bedroom and bathroom, exactly the way she left it following her death.<\/p>\n
“I have only been in my sister’s room a handful of times since she passed because it is very hard for me, but each time I went into her bedroom and bathroom, I realized that nothing had been touched, moved or put away,” she explains, sharing that she only realized their dad was planning to keep her sister’s things in place after stepping into Sophia’s space.<\/p>\n\n

“I do not think my dad has any plan to change anything for the rest of his life,” she says. “He was in fact going to move from that house but since Sophia died, he does not want to feel disconnected from her in any way. …Her bedroom and her closet are just the way she left it, too.”<\/p>\n
“I think this is the reason why he leaves everything untouched. His love for her transcends this universe,” she continues.<\/p>\n\n
Meagan describes Sophia as “a vibrant, beautiful and smart woman” who graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in communications in 2021 before beginning her “short but mighty” career at E! News and Something About Her, the restaurant owned by Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney of Vanderpump Rules.<\/em><\/p>\n
“She loved to travel, eat good food, spend time with family and friends, and work hard,” she says of Sophia, sharing that some of her favorite activities included grabbing a burrito in Malibu, taking it to the beach and sitting down with a good book.<\/p>\n
“She really wanted to build something special for herself and her future,” Meagan adds.<\/p>\n\n
