After a run of phoneless pop-up shows across the country, the singer-songwriter has finally announced the follow-up to 2020’s Punisher<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\tPhoebe Bridgers<\/a> fans, rejoice: PB3 is officially on the way. The singer-songwriter announced her new album, Lost Weekend<\/a><\/em>, out Aug. 14 via her longtime label, Dead Oceans.<\/p>\n

\n\tLost Weekend<\/em> marks Bridgers\u2019 third solo album<\/a>, following 2020\u2019s breakthrough Punisher<\/a><\/em>. A track list for the new record has yet to be revealed, but Bridgers has been performing several new songs in her recent series of phoneless pop-up shows at small clubs across the country. That run began in Roswell, New Mexico<\/a> on May 8, and capped with an arena show at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden<\/a> on June 4. \u201cIf any of you stuck an Apple Watch up your ass to record this, please don\u2019t post it on the internet,\u201d she told the internet-free crowd at the Garden. \u201cI\u2019m trusting you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPrior to these shows, Bridgers had kept a low profile since releasing The Record<\/em><\/a> with her supergroup boygenius<\/a> (alongside Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker) and going on a tour with them that concluded<\/a> in February 2024. The Record<\/em> earned the band six Grammy nominations<\/a>, while Bridgers received four nods for Punisher. <\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s unclear if the new album title has anything to do with John Lennon\u2019s infamous \u201cLost Weekend\u201d period, as the former Beatle\u2019s debauched 18-month separation from his wife, Yoko Ono, starting in 1973 is known. Bridgers sang about Lennon on the Punisher <\/em>track \u201cMoon Song,\u201d and spoke to Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> <\/em>about him at the time. \u201cEasily best Beatle,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s been such an icon for so many people who are my heroes, like Elliott Smith and Daniel Johnston.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBridgers will kick off the Lost Tour<\/a> on Sept. 15 in Indianapolis, continuing with dates throughout the fall. She announced the trek with an image captured by fine-art photographer Gregory Crewdson, who gave an exclusive interview<\/a> to Rolling Stone <\/em>about their collaboration. \u201cThere was an alliance there, with a sense of mystery and loneliness, and wanting to make connections about landscape and all that,\u201d Crewdson said. \u201cIt\u2019s a coming together between Phoebe\u2019s world and my world.\u201d<\/p>\n
