Jack White<\/a> and Olivia Jean are going to be (just) friends. The couple is calling it quits after more than four years of marriage.<\/p>\n According to court documents reviewed by TMZ<\/a>, Jean filed for divorce on June 3 in Nashville, and cited the same date as their date of separation. The petition alleged that White was \u201cguilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper.\u201d<\/p>\n In Tennessee, \u201cinappropriate marital conduct\u201d is a commonly cited ground in a fault-based petition for divorce. Although the official statute<\/a> defines this as a spouse being guilty of \u201ccruel and inhuman treatment or conduct,\u201d legal experts at the Hoffman Law and Mediation Office<\/a> note that the actual behaviors qualifying under the law serve as a general catch-all.<\/p>\n This is White\u2019s third marriage, and divorce, as the former White Stripes frontman was previously married to Stripes drummer Meg White<\/a> and model-singer-songwriter Karen Elson.<\/p>\n The split comes more than four years after Jean, also a musician, married White onstage, mid-performance,<\/a> in Detroit. \u201cLadies and gentlemen, it\u2019s been such a beautiful day, I\u2019m thinking why don\u2019t we just do this right now and get married right now?\u201d White said before asking Jean\u2019s father, Brent Markel, who was in attendance, if the couple had his blessing.<\/p>\n \u201cYes,\u201d said Markel, hugging White.<\/p>\n Then White called his Third Man Records co-founder, \u201cMinister Ben Swank,\u201d onstage to perform the nuptials, and the pair said their \u201cI do\u2019s\u201d to thunderous applause from the crowd.<\/p>\n In July 2022, Jean told the New York Times<\/a> that it was the best experience of her life. \u201cYou could plan a wedding for five years and it wouldn\u2019t compare to that.\u201d<\/p>\n
