Bob Iger<\/strong><\/a>, the former CEO of Disney during Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s temporary suspension, is finally opening up about the late night comedian\u2019s removal from ABC\u2019s lineup last September.<\/p>\n The 75-year-old former media executive spoke to the Financial Times<\/a> about the decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! from ABC\u2019s lineup last September over comments he made following <\/a>Charlie Kirk<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s death<\/a>.<\/p>\n Iger denied it had anything to do with politics and appeasing the Trump administration.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was not the case,\u201d Iger said, via Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cWe thought it was in bad taste.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimmel caused controversy when, in an opening monologue, he claimed a Trump supporter was responsible for Kirk\u2019s death. Kirk was struck by a gunshot and killed in September 2025 during the first stop of his American Comeback Tour in Utah.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d Kimmel said at the time on-air.<\/p>\n ZUMAPRESS.com \/ MEGA<\/span><\/p>\n The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr<\/strong> and President<\/strong> Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a> responded with calls to axe Kimmel\u2019s late night show from station owners Sinclair and Nexstar.
