{"id":2474067,"date":"2026-06-24T19:01:41","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T19:01:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2474067"},"modified":"2026-06-24T19:01:41","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T19:01:41","slug":"sony-pictures-invests-100-million-in-cosm-takes-minority-stake-the-mighty-790-kfgo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/sony-pictures-invests-100-million-in-cosm-takes-minority-stake-the-mighty-790-kfgo\/","title":{"rendered":"Sony Pictures invests $100 million in Cosm, takes minority stake | The Mighty 790 KFGO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p>June 24 (Reuters) \u2013 Sony Pictures Entertainment announced a $100 million strategic investment in immersive technology firm Cosm on Wednesday, marking a \u200bpush by the Hollywood studio to extend \u200cits film and television properties into a growing network of dome-shaped venues across the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles-based Cosm operates dome venues using its \u201cShared Reality\u201d technology, which \u200cprojects \u200blive sports, concerts and other \u2060events onto massive, \u2060wraparound curved LED screens.<\/p>\n<p>As the lead investor in Cosm\u2019s Series C financing round, Sony Pictures will acquire a minority ownership stake in \u200bthe company, it said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The investment advances Sony Pictures\u2019 focus on experiential \u2060entertainment, fandom and technology, \u2060and would allow the studio to \u200bexplore new ways to extend its intellectual property through \u200bimmersive experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Sony Pictures CEO Ravi Ahuja will \u200cjoin Cosm\u2019s board of directors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will use this capital to fuel Cosm\u2019s growth as we expand our venue network and advance our \u2060technology initiatives across both Sports and Entertainment,\u201d Cosm CEO Jeb Terry said.<\/p>\n<p>Cosm has opened three domes in \u2060Los Angeles, \u200cDallas and Atlanta, with venues planned \u2060for Detroit in September and Cleveland \u200bnext \u200cyear.
