It\u2019s not surprising to see Camilla hightail it out of town<\/a> because Harry made it pretty clear in his 2023 memoir, Spare<\/em>, that he was not a fan.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Duke of Sussex revealed that he and his elder brother tried to talk Charles out of marrying Camilla, which was understandable given the messy history of the love triangle<\/a> with their dad, his mistress, and their late mother, Princess Diana.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cDespite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings,\u201d he wrote in the book. \u201cWe recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he\u2019d always loved.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tWhile that interaction seemed peaceful, Harry also told 60 Minutes<\/em><\/a> in 2023 that he believed Camilla was in cahoots with the British tabloids to repair her public image \u2014\u00a0she gave them a royal scoop<\/a> in exchange for positive press.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThere was open willingness on both sides to trade information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her on the way to being Queen Consort, there were going to be people or bodies left in the street,\u201d he said in the interview while describing Queen Camilla as \u201cdangerous\u201d and \u201cthe villain.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe Duke of Sussex probably won\u2019t ever have a warm relationship with Camilla, given the circumstances over the decades, but he does have a \u201chuge amount of compassion for her.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cShe\u2019s my stepmother.
