Comcast\u2019s Sky has agreed on terms to acquire ITV\u2019s media and entertainment unit for \u00a31.6 billion ($2.1 billion). The deal, which includes ITV\u2019s linear channels and the ITVX streaming platform, is being finalized by lawyers, according to Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n ITV Studios, which is famous for producing shows like \u201cCoronation Street,\u201d \u201cThis Morning\u201d and \u201cLove Island,\u201d will remain separate, but acquire \u201cThe Great British Bake Off\u201d\u00a0producer Love Productions as part of the deal. When including that sale, the total transaction could be valued between \u00a380 million and \u00a3120 million, the outlet notes.<\/p>\n Representatives for ITV declined to comment, while Sky did not immediately return TheWrap\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n The deal terms come after ITV first confirmed it was in preliminary talks with Sky back in November. At the time, it said there could be \u201cno certainty as to the terms upon which any\u00a0potential sale\u00a0may be agreed or whether any transaction will take place.\u201d<\/p>\n On Wednesday, Reuters said the deal could be announced within the next two weeks, but noted that timing could change due to legal complications.
