Barack Obama<\/strong><\/a> is weighing in on President Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s alleged \u201cobsession\u201d with him.<\/p>\n \u201cYou gotta ask him what it is \u2026 the obsession,\u201d Obama, 64, said when asked about Trump\u2019s \u201cfascination\u201d with him on the Wednesday, June 24, episode of Matt Barnes<\/strong> and Stephen Jackson<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cAll the Smoke<\/a>\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n \u201cI obviously have a room in his head,\u201d the former president continued. \u201cA suite in his head. \u2026 First of all, when I was president, the last thing I had to do was worry about what someone said or what my predecessor did. They\u2019re gone. I\u2019ve got work to do.\u201d<\/p>\n Obama, who served as the 44th president from January 2009 to January 2017, pointed out that \u201cif you\u2019re doing the job right,\u201d a U.S. leader would have \u201cfive, 10 things that are real hard\u201d to do every day.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd you have to be constantly focused,\u201d he noted. \u201cThe idea that I would be worried about somebody who came before, and me trying to measure, \u2018What\u2019s he done today?\u2019 \u2026 [It\u2019s] a strange thing to me. It shows me somebody who\u2019s not focused on the American people and the job they\u2019re supposed to do.<\/p>\n Obama said he learned \u201cpretty early\u201d in his presidency to \u201cscreen out the noise in order for you to understand what\u2019s in front of you and deal with it well.\u201d He added that he\u2019s \u201cnot even worried\u201d about engaging with the comments that Trump, 80, has made about him.<\/p>\n Trump, who served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021 before returning to office as the 47th president last year, has thrown several jabs at Obama over the years. Earlier this month, he took to his Truth Social account to share an edited image depicting the Obama Presidential Center, a museum, library and education project in Chicago, as a trash can ahead of its opening on Juneteenth.<\/p>\n Obama appeared to make a subtle dig at Trump without naming the president during his speech at the June 18 opening ceremony, warning attendees about \u201cruthless\u201d and \u201ccareless\u201d leaders.<\/p>\n
