Olivia Wilde<\/a> has officially returned to the spotlight after a messy time in her personal life. In late June 2026, she released her third directorial film, The Invite<\/em>, and used its promotion to share a rare update about her love life.<\/p>\n

In her cover story with The Cut<\/a><\/em>, Wilde revealed she\u2019s dating Caspar Jopling, an art dealer who was previously married to singer Ellie Goulding. \u201cWhen you\u2019re with someone who\u2019s not in the entertainment industry or isn\u2019t a public figure, I have a sense of, I want to protect this person as much as I can<\/em>,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n

Although cautious about making her relationship public, Wilde said with a smile, \u201cI\u2019m in a really lovely relationship now. I adore him, and I feel completely whole and intact as a person.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s only possible after spending a couple years alone,\u201d she added. \u201cIf you haven\u2019t ever been single for a few years, how do you even know who you are?\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilde and Jopling first sparked romance rumors in September 2025, and by January 2026, People<\/a> <\/em>reported that Wilde and Jopling\u2019s relationship was \u201cgetting serious.\u201d A source confirmed that Jopling had even \u201cintroduced her to his family and friends.\u201d That same month, Jopling joined Wilde at the Sundance Film Festival, where she premiered The Invite<\/em> and another film, I Want Your Sex<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Wilde\u2019s latest relationship comes nearly three years after her split from Harry Styles, whom she began dating after he joined her movie, Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em>. Before that, Wilde was engaged to Ted Lasso <\/em>star Jason Sudeikis<\/a>, with whom she shares two kids: Otis, 12, and Daisy, 9.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, Wilde reflected on her dynamic with Sudeikis, saying they\u2019re \u201cvery, very, very different people who are certainly much better as friends and co-parents.\u201d This comes after Wilde\u2019s appearance on the June 17 episode of the Call Her Daddy<\/em> podcast, where she spoke about the difficult moment she realized their engagement was over.<\/p>\n

Wilde remembered her 36th birthday on March 10, 2020, explaining that she and Sudeikis \u201chad been having a rough time there for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a real bumpy, bumpy ride, and we were driving home from my birthday party my friends had had, and I said, \u2018Did you give me a birthday present?\u2019 And he said, \u2018What would I get you, Olivia? I don\u2019t know you,\u2019\u201d she recounted. \u201cAnd he wasn\u2019t wrong. We didn\u2019t know each other anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilde also opened up about her \u201ctraumatizing\u201d experience at CinemaCon 2022, when she was served custody papers<\/a> while presenting Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em>. A woman approached the stage, handed Wilde an envelope labeled \u201cpersonal and confidential,\u201d and left, forcing Wilde to resume her presentation as if nothing had happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was one of the most f\u2014d up things I went through, among so many,\u201d Wilde told host Alex Cooper. \u201cAnd I\u2019ll just say that now with enough space behind it, the part that I can laugh at is that\u2014obviously, it was incredibly traumatizing, there are so many elements to that\u2014but I get through it because, weirdly, as women we\u2019re taught to muscle through the most insane experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recalled telling herself to finish her speech before heading backstage, where she \u201ccompletely dissolved into a puddle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut then, I thought, \u2018No one saw it because there\u2019s no phones allowed in this event. No one saw. Oh, what\u2019s that? It\u2019s already up on Page Six<\/em>? There\u2019s a video? OK,\u2019\u201d Wilde continued.<\/p>\n

Wilde still doesn\u2019t know whether Sudeikis was aware of or involved in the timing of the custody papers being served. \u201cJason has told me that he did not know, and I need to believe that to continue [our coparenting relationship],\u201d she noted. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think that lawyers can be super f\u2014d up and do f\u2014d up things. \u2026 It was so f\u2014d up in so many ways. I know that, whether or not he knew it was going to happen, I know it really hurt him to see it happening to me. It was undeniable that it was a f\u2014d up thing, and I know he felt very bad that it happened to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
