Daryl Hall<\/a> recently underwent a kidney transplant and he\u2019s already feeling better. <\/p>\n The 79-year-old musician \u2014 formerly of the iconic rock duo Hall & Oates<\/a> \u2014 took to social media Tuesday to share the news. <\/p>\n \u201cI thought you should know that I recently received a kidney transplant from a very kind and generous living donor,\u201d Hall wrote in an Instagram<\/a> post. \u201cIt happened a couple of weeks ago, and I\u2019m already starting to feel better. It was, according to my doctors, a complete success!\u201d <\/p>\n The \u201cDreamtime\u201d singer-songwriter added that he expects to be \u201cback to normal in a few months\u201d and promised \u201cmore music and lots of Daryl\u2019s House shows\u201d in the future. Hall has been hosting \u201cLive from Daryl\u2019s House<\/a>,\u201d a web series where he and his band perform with guest artists, on and off since 2007. <\/p>\n A living-donor kidney transplant<\/a> is when a healthy living person donates their kidney. The recipient is usually experiencing kidney failure. According to the National Kidney Foundation<\/a>, \u201ckidneys from a living donor may last longer and are more likely to start working right away than a kidney from a deceased donor.\u201d <\/p>\n Hall did not share any additional details regarding his kidney transplant. <\/p>\n The \u201cBring It On Home<\/a>\u201d singer has opened up about other health issues in the past. In 2005, Hall & Oates had to postpone a series of shows after Hall was diagnosed with Lyme disease. <\/p>\n Lyme disease<\/a> is a bacterial infection that is spread through the bite of infected black-legged ticks \u2014 also known as deer ticks. Symptoms can include fever, rash, facial paralysis, an irregular heartbeat and arthritis, according to the CDC<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
