The twangy, wistful song will appear on the Killers<\/a> frontman\u2019s third solo album, \u2018Thrasher\u2019<\/a>, which is released on August 21 via Island.<\/p>\n \u2018Thrasher\u2019 marks Flowers\u2019 first solo full-length effort in over a decade,\u00a0 following 2015\u2019s \u2018The Desired Effect\u2019<\/a> and his 2011 debut \u2018Flamingo\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arriving today (Friday June 26), first track \u2018Plans\u2019 sees the singer lean heavily into an Americana, old school country-tinged sound \u2013 far from the synth-pop sonics of his previous LP.<\/p>\n Some fans are comparing the track to the slow-burning, contemplative latest Killers album, 2021\u2019s \u2018Pressure Machine\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSo hold me in your arms \/ I think I\u2019m going under \/ Take your time with my heart \/ It\u2019s been rattled by the thunder<\/em>,\u201d he sings over acoustic guitar, pedal steel and some rich female backing vocals, making way for lush strings.<\/p>\n
