TLC star Deon Derrico<\/strong> broke his silence in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly<\/em> after ex-wife Karen Derrico<\/strong> was arrested for threatening him and their 14 kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still love her as a mother of my children. But I do not like her at all. I don\u2019t like what she\u2019s done,\u201d Deon, 54, told Us<\/em> on Thursday, June 25. \u201cI don\u2019t like how the children are involved, they\u2019re in the middle of it, and I\u2019m forced to defend my position.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI still have to maintain the presence of mind for my innocent children, \u2019cause no matter what, they\u2019re innocent. When they\u2019re fighting within, no one wins. No one wins. No matter who looks to have won, no one wins and that\u2019s the part that\u2019s most disturbing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karen was recently arrested in Las Vegas<\/a> and charged with harassment, violating a restraining order, preventing a witness from testifying through threat of violence and aggravated stalking.<\/p>\n

She was arraigned on Tuesday, June 23, and pleaded not guilty. Karen\u2019s attorney Jess Marchese<\/strong> confirmed that her client was released on a $2,000 bond and outfitted with an ankle monitor. Karen\u2019s next hearing is set for August 6.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had done threatening things to me and things that made me question my life,\u201d Deon told Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Deon claimed he told his mother earlier this year that if anything happened to him, they should \u201clook at Karen.\u201d He was still living with Karen at the time, but they had separate bedrooms. (Deon and Karen announced in June 2024 that they were getting divorced<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the level of anger and hatred I was feeling from her,\u201d he added, noting that their daughters were apparently concerned about Deon\u2019s safety and would stay in his room.<\/p>\n

Karen made her TLC debut in 2020 when Doubling Down With the Derricos premiered. The reality show followed Karen and her then-husband, Deon Derrico, along with their 14 children. Karen and Deon are the parents of Darian<\/strong>, 18, Derrick<\/strong>, 13, twins Denver<\/strong> and Dallas<\/strong>, 12, quintuplets Deniko<\/strong>, Dariz<\/strong>, Deonee<\/strong>, Daician<\/strong> and \u200bDaiten<\/strong>, 10, Diez and Dior, 6, and triplets Dawsyn<\/strong>, De\u2019Aren<\/strong> and Dyver<\/strong>, 4.<\/p>\n

Deon told Us<\/em> that Karen filed a temporary protection order against him on April 14.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe it,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m not in love with her, and I\u2019m not crazy, so I\u2019m not stalking her. I\u2019m not harassing her. I\u2019m not doing any of those things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karen\u2019s TPO was dismissed, so Deon filed his own. Karen allegedly started sending Deon emails asking her to drop the request.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just ignored her emails, and then they kept getting more and more aggressive,\u201d he claimed. \u201cAnd she had already been threatening the children about killing them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Audio from a phone call between Karen and some of her kids was released by TMZ on Thursday, where Karen could be heard scolding, \u201cDon\u2019t ever do that again. Because you make me regret it. Don\u2019t play with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
