It\u2019s been nearly five months since Today <\/em>co-anchor Savannah Guthrie<\/a>\u2019s mother, Nancy Guthrie<\/a>, went missing. The 84-year-old woman disappeared in the early hours of Feb. 1, 2026, after she was allegedly kidnapped from her Arizona home.<\/p>\n

Months have passed without a definitive lead, but on June 26, TMZ<\/a><\/em> reported that authorities may soon identify the main suspect in the case.<\/p>\n

According to the outlet, they received another email from an anonymous individual claiming to know the identities of Guthrie\u2019s kidnappers. The sender also insists they possess a video showing the \u201dmain\u201d assailant with Guthrie on the day she died. This latest message reportedly came from the same person who previously demanded one Bitcoin in exchange for information about Guthrie\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a phone stashed in a secure location guaranteeing both the information it stores and the safety of the phone,\u201d the individual wrote, per TMZ<\/em>. \u201cWhat it contains is my definition of delivering them on a silver platter, a short video of the main guy with Nancy the day that was probably her last, pictures of both involved, names and addresses and age.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mystery sender further claimed that the phone is in a \u201clocation easy to access if you know where it is,\u201d and said they would provide the password for one Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

They also asserted that there were two kidnappers behind Guthrie\u2019s abduction. In response, TMZ <\/em>asked the sender to provide a screenshot of Guthrie to verify the claim and later forwarded the email to the FBI.<\/p>\n

TMZ<\/em>\u2019s latest report comes amid revelations that two notes<\/a>, reportedly sent from the same IP address, were sent to Guthrie\u2019s family and several news outlets just days after she was taken from her home. The first note suggested that Guthrie was \u201csafe but scared,\u201d while the second claimed she had died and her remains were \u201cburied in nature.\u201d The captors also reportedly expressed guilt over her alleged death.<\/p>\n
