\u201cCheers\u201d alum Kelsey Grammer<\/a> bellied up to Donald Trump<\/a> at the White House<\/a> Thursday, calling the president \u201cvery chipper, very positive and uplifting\u201d while noting his \u201cheart\u201d is invested in the \u201cAmerican experiment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Earlier in the week, the \u201cFrasier\u201d star appeared on Fox News<\/a>\u2019 \u201cJesse Watters<\/a> Primetime\u201d and said he prayed for Americans unhappy with Trump \u201cto find a decent sentiment in their hearts about this country, about the people who run it these days.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Grammer\u2019s support for Trump is no secret<\/a>, but this week it was writ large at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on Thursday as he promoted his new movie \u201cYoung Washington,\u201d<\/a> in which he plays Lord Fairfax.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He told reporters he stopped by to talk to \u201cthe big guy\u201d (which he did for a reported hour<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In a clip shared<\/a> by Sam Lisker of Scripps News, Grammer was asked about Trump\u2019s performance on bipartisanship. Grammer replied: \u201cI think he understands … different political alignments will play out as they play out. I think he celebrates in his heart and in actuality the American experiment, which is honestly a story of two sides bashing heads all the time and finally coming out with some kind of middle ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Grammer, 71, lavished praise on Trump, who has taken heat for waging war in Iran, inflation and a sickly green Reflecting Pool, among other things.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt was fantastic today, just effervescent, fun,\u201d the actor said. \u201cWe traded some old war stories about our lives, our personal lives, our wives, our families, and it was really nice to see him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He said he stopped by to \u201csay hi to the big guy\u201d and chirped over his demeanor in a video posted<\/a> by journalist Rabia \u0130clal Turan. \u201cVery pleasant, very chipper, very positive, uplifting, he was the president.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Days earlier, he attacked some critics of the president in an interview with Jesse Watters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThere is a virus that has infected a very small number of people, I think, who just want to tear things down,\u201d he told Watters earlier in the week. \u201cThey\u2019ve been consumed by hatred, and of course, hatred ends up basically destroying you … I pray for them. I pray for everyone to find a decent sentiment in their hearts about this country about the people who run it these days.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
